Admission Requirements:

UME Option:

Candidates seeking admission into the Four-Year Degree Programme should possess any of the following qualifications:

At least five ordinary level credit passes in WASC, WAEC ,SSCE /GCE,NECO SSCE or at least five merit-level passes in the Teachers Grade (TC II) examinations or its recognized equivalent at not more than two sittings . The subject include English language an dFine Arts.

Note: UME subjects are :

(a) Use of English

(b) Fine Arts and

(c) Any other two subjects from Arts or Social Sciences.

Direct Entry Option:

In addition to the UME Option requirements, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:

  • At least two advanced level passes in fine Arts and any other subject in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate ( HSC). The subjects should include Literature in English.
  • At least an upper credit -level pass in Higher National Diploma ( HND) in Fine Arts from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology or at least a credit level pass in the University of  Benin Diploma in Fine Arts (DFA).
  • At least a credit-level pass in fine arts and an overall merit level pass at the NCE or its equivalent qualification from a recognized College of Education.
  • Candidates with at least an upper credit-level pass in HND who satisfy the above are eligible for consideration for direct Entry admission into 300 level.
