About Me: 

Dr Nkoli Aniekwu has an LL.M and Ph.D from the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, and a Diploma in International Human Rights from the Abo Akademi Institute of Human Rights in Turku, Finland. She is research fellow and resource person to several affiliated institutions in Africa and Europe, and has presented conference papers on health and human rights issues in international and regional events. She is widely recognised for her research experience in the interdisciplinary issues of reproductive health and human rights, and the linkages of regional municipal systems with universal institutions. Her doctoral dissertation was nominated by the Faculty of Law at the University of Lagos for a Research Award by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) in 2009. Her thesis was rated by the School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos, as ‘an appreciable mastery of the area of study, and a clear exposition of the concept of rights in Nigeria.’  Nkoli Aniekwu teaches Legal Method and Research at the Department of Public Law, University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. Her book Legal Methodology and Research in Nigeria has been described by Professor Susanne Karstedt of the School of Law, University of Leeds, U.K. as ‘a classic text in empirical and legal research methods.’
