I was born on June 17th,1947, had my elementary education at the Methodist Mission School, Ogun State and secondary education at the United Anglican / Methodist Secondary Modern School in Ilesa. I trained as a teacher at the Methodist Teacher's college, Ekiti state. I had my university education at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1971-1974), Syracuse University, New York(977-1979) and New york University (1983-1986). I hold Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees in Fine Arts. My specialization is in Ceramic Art and Design and aesthetic Education. I have been teaching and researching into traditional arts of the Nigerian people at the University of Benin for over a period of 30 years . My research focuses on "The Pottery Traditions of the Nigerian People, with emphasis on its technology, history and cultural significance. I am currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Fine and Applied arts, University of Benin. I am married with children.
