Ogo A. Ofuani has been Professor of English language and literature (stylistics) at University of Benin since October 1993. Before that, he was at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, from 1976 to 1979, rising from Graduate Assistant to Lecturer Grade 2. He moved to University of Benin in September 1979 and has successively risen to Lecturer Grade 1, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and Professor.
Professor Ogo Ofuani has consulted, in different capacities, for: National Teachers Institute, Kaduna; the West African Examinations Council, Lagos; JAMB; IJMB; the National Universities Council, Abuja; local government councils; and private schools and religious organisations. He has been Assistant Editor and Editor, Nigerian Journal of the Humanities, Faculty of Arts, University of Benin. He is the first Editor of the Romanus Egudu Journal of English Studies (REJES) – a publication of the Department of English & Literature. Professor Ofuani is a member of many academic associations, including the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL), the Nigerian English Studies Association (N. E. S. A.), The Linguistics Association of SADC Universities (L. A. S. U.) and the Association for Business Communication (USA).
